I am a single mom in West Des Moines, IA. I needed new gutters and gutter toppings as I live in a neighborhood which has lots of trees. I spoke to three gutter companies and had narrowed it down to one.
Because of a bad experience a few years back when having a cedar fence installed, I knew that I was going to be more careful this time around while dealing with a contractor. I read about SafePact and decided that this would offer me protection in knowing that the work was done to my satisfaction before the contractor was paid in full. When I spoke to the contractor that I had chosen about using SafePact, he did not have any objections to using it. I gave him the website address so he could check it out himself. He did want a down payment before he ordered the materials, which I can understand. It was easy to have the down payment funds released early.
The whole process was very simple and once my funds had been deposited in a SafePact escrow account I did not really even think about it again until the job was completed to my satisfaction.
Once the job was completed the funds were wired to my contractor’s bank account. I might also add that I requested a lien waver from the contractor to insure that he had paid for the materials used on my home, as suggested by SafePact.
Using SafePact was a very simple process and I would definitely recommend using SafePact, especially for single women. Why complicate your life when you can have a third party handle the financial transaction and be able to sleep at night with one less thing to worry about?
