Amidst all of the problems in this world, and all of the times that I seem to talk about how terrible contractors can be, it seems pretty cool that there are some good apples in the basket.
This story talks about a group of contractors raising a whopping $300,000 for children. The event itself, called Contractors for Kids, is an annual event that raises money to cover almost all costs of a child’s medical needs and to give the parents some relief of the costs. I won’t go into all the details here, since you really need to read the article to get the full story, but the CFK charity seems to do a lot of good for a lot of people.
Covering travel costs to move to a hospital with more expertise? Done. Making payments on a home’s mortgage for a family who cannot work because they have to take care of their child? Easy. Buying a car for a family? Not even a challenge. I think will all the problems that are out there in the world, especially with contractors, it’s nice to see that there is a lot that can be done inside of our industry.
