While internet surfing I came across this news story about a bad contractor experience in Pennsylvania. The news story is really well done and at the end of it does a good overview on what you should do when hiring a contractor (but these are all things you know already right?). I won’t give it away but there is a key phrase that the man who was scammed says that should be a key red flag for everyone watching. Something else that’s part of the plot of the story is that the contractor didn’t obtain the right permits. Permits are something that I haven’t covered here or on the YouTube channel yet, but they’re coming.
Something the news story doesn’t mention is using a service like Safepact.com to ensure that the contractor you have hired will not scam you because you will only pay him when you are completely satisfied with the work that he has done.
If someone wants to be first and post the answer to the major red flag, go ahead and say it in the comments.
